This past week I worked out of Port Arthur, a Lowe’s that’s about an hour and a half from us. We drove up Monday morning, worked long hours, and came back Friday after normal hours. I enjoyed working the long hours and the pay they afford, but also the times with people with whom I don’t usually work. But as a family man, I am not a fan of the time spent so far away from my family for so long. In fact, I was thrilled that the hotel allowed me to have my family stay with me as they wished! Unfortunately, they can’t give away their whole week to be there with me, especially when I’m the odd bird among them that can sleep anywhere! When they came up this past week, we went to eat at Twin Peaks, which involved an experience I need to share for the good of any who, like us, are delightfully, obliviously naïve.
