What are some questions you have asked in the raising of your own children? What have you learned? What mistakes have you made, and what do you wish you would have handled better?
An article by Children's Hospital Boston may shed some much-needed light on the frustrations many parents deal with when it comes to their children. I encourage you to read the article for yourself, but for those suffering from a time crunch, I'll summarize some major points here:
As my own kids are growing up, I find myself asking questions constantly as I struggle to understand what is best for them. What is the best way to stimulate their minds, rather than just keep them busy? How can I teach them to behave well despite my own failings in this area? When punishment is necessary, what brings a change in behavior and repentance, and what brings rebellion and anger? How do I understand my children better so I don't "read" difficulties as their failures, or my own?
