The classic hymn "Be Thou My Vision," done by 4Him, off the album "Hymns: A Place of Worship." Whenever I sing this hymn in church or on the radio, in my own mind I sound like 4Him, and exactly like this. I'm aware this might be a delusion... maybe. Audrey Assad put a cinematically compelling version of this hymn on YouTube, the audio of which is on “Inheritance,” a Soundtrack for Prayer. | "Holy" by the Apostle John, I mean... Matt Gilman. Yeah, Matt Gilman put part of John's vision to music and wrecked the internet the first time I heard it. Stop the bus. I want to get off and hit the ground. This song absolutely Breaks. Me. Every. Time. It takes me straight to John's Revelation (singular) and the text comes alive in vibrant, imaginative detail. Matt Gilman's "Holy" is a masterpiece. Period. |
